Sweet Baby "J"

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting adorable little 10 month old "J" this past weekend. She and her mommy and brother drove to Colorado Springs from Denver for her 9 month pictures. She actually turned 10 months the day of our session. How cool is that?! We had so much fun exploring downtown Colorado Springs finding fun spots for her pictures. Here's a little preview!

Whew, it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks! We've had family come and go, gone on a few car trips, and had t-ball every night in the midst of all that! Summertime is crazy but I love it! I love to be busy!

So I'm just now able to sit down and blog about a super fun session from a couple weeks ago. Mom wanted baptismal portraits of 8 year old "B", portraits of beautiful, 12 year old "A" with her adorable Teacup Yorkie "Zoey" as well as "A" with her trombone, and then a group shot of all the kids together. It sounds like a tall order but these kids are so awesome, we made it through with flying colors!

With Grandma being in town, the kids get to do extra special things like go to fun pools we've never been to before. So a few days ago, they got to go to Wilson Ranch Pool here in Colorado Springs. What a FUN place!!! Of course, I had to break out my camera to capture a bit of the action and gorgeous summer colors.

Wow, did anyone notice tonight's amazing light??? I love the light right before or right after a big storm. It makes me feel like I'm in a different world. Tonight, my kids were playing outside in that gorgeous light with their wonderful grandma who is visiting from Alaska. I took the opportunity to capture my three together.

Ok, so this is a JMK post today. For all you non-internet forum people that means this post will contain Just My Kids. :-) But I have to say that I have really slacked on pictures of my own kids since starting my business. And of course, my kids were my inspiration for starting photography and eventually a photography business so it always feels good to grab my camera for a family outing and feel that excitement over what I might capture that day of my three.

So today we went to a local park and my kids (who have been so bored this summer--really, I mean all we've done is go to Mexico--no fun AT ALL let me tell ya!) got to scream and yell and get wet and run around and do all the fun things kids love to do in the summertime. It was great. And their mama had a pretty good time too. :-)
